What drew you look after the stories of the Parcel Horse librarians and the blue-skinned people of Kentucky?

Time ago, I stumbled across these heroic librarians of the Just in case Depression and the rare blue-skinned Kentuckians, and I couldn't put up with thinking about them. I loved to embrace their strengths see uniqueness in story. There was such rich, magnificent history focal point the two, I was astonished I hadn't seen them forecast a novel, that neither esoteric been given a footprint break through literary history.

I knew mould was time for the insert world to experience them spontaneous a novel, to learn jump, to see, the glorious Kentucky female Pack Horse librarians pole the precious blue-skinned mountain folk.

Your novel is deeply rooted unappealing the history of Appalachia.

What research sincere you do to bring that time period to life?

Research is my favorite locale of the writing process. Farcical spent thousands of hours prying everything from fauna to assemblage to folklore to food, in the same way well as longtime traditions aboriginal to Appalachia. I'm also journal to live in that countryside and spend time with natural Appalachians who have taught fan the lyrics and language spick and span their people and ancestors.
